OSHA's ACCSH Meets May 19-20: What GCs Should Watch
OSHA’s Advisory Committee on Construction Safety and Health, known as ACCSH, will hold virtual public meetings on May 19 and 20, 2026, running 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. ET each day. AGC News is flagging the meeting notice and noting that public comments are accepted. ACCSH provides recommendations to OSHA on construction-specific rulemaking and policy, making its agenda a leading indicator of where OSHA’s construction standards are heading.
Most GCs don’t track ACCSH until a new standard shows up in their inbox as a compliance requirement. That’s backwards. The committee’s agendas are public, the meetings are virtual, and the comment window is open. Firms that show up here, or at least read the minutes, get 12 to 18 months of advance notice on regulatory direction. That’s enough time to adjust your subcontractor prequalification requirements, update your safety plan templates, and brief your subs before the rule hits. Waiting for the final publication is not a compliance strategy.
